We are PR and Marketing experts

From writers to marketing strategists to social media managers, we are here to help grow your business.

“You’ve done more for our business in two months than our previous agency did in two years.”

Our favorite client quote of all time:

Design + Architecture Marketing

Your brand, but sharper.

We help architecture and design firms (and the manufacturers who love them) define, refine, and shine. Whether you need the full brand foundation or just a quick jolt of marketing muscle, we’re here.

Copywriting – blogs, brochures, websites—words that actually work.
Content Strategy – editorial calendars that keep your marketing moving forward.
CEU Development – researched, written, and designed to sell without selling.
Brand Identity – building foundations that last, positioning you for today and tomorrow.

The “PR magic” that’s hard work, but we make it look easy.

Media placements don’t just fall from the sky—they come from the kind of media relations expertise we’ve spent years perfecting.

• Build editorial calendars to land your key messages in the right outlets.
• Craft press releases, product launches, and people stories that editors actually open.
• Ghostwrite thought leadership and secure high-profile placements.
• Leverage our design-world connections to score consistent earned media across all platforms – print, podcasts, newsletters, online, social media, and in-person speaking roles.
• Support at trade shows with press tours, activations, and all the buzz.

More sparkle, less stress.

We help your brand, product, or project get the glory it deserves. (Think NeoCon wins, HiP honors, and more trophies than Meryl Streep.)

• Identify the right award programs.
• Write irresistible submissions.
• Handle all the fine print and deadlines.

Because “my intern can post” isn’t a strategy.

We turn social into a brand-building, revenue-driving engine.

• Build and manage content calendars.
• Write copy and design posts that stick.
• Grow and engage your followers.
• Manage paid campaigns and geo-targeted ads.
• Track, report, and refine—because results matter.

The inbox isn’t dead. (But boring emails should be put out of their misery.)

We craft digital campaigns that actually get opened—and acted on.

• Write and design campaigns in MailChimp, Constant Contact, and beyond.
• Segment, schedule, and deliver to the right audience.
• Run digital ads and search campaigns.
• Track, analyze, optimize.

What we do

The Team

Jenna Rehberg

Media Relations and Content

After earning BA and MA degrees in English Literature, Jenna Rehberg didn’t expect to start her career writing about flooring but it turned into a passion and her roots in interiors were planted. Fast forward to a move to commercial design and her affinity for A+D was born. Jenna has become a bit of a renaissance woman in the design world but her business relationships, expertise, and love for correcting grammar are constant.

Pet peeves: “It is what it is.” Emails that should be phone calls.
Favorite ritual: Weekend brunches with her husband and son.
Endless quest: Finding the perfect black business tote.

Lynne Pfister

Media Relations

After 16 years in the commercial real estate media arena, Lynne knows more about random acronyms than most – BOMA, IFMA, CORENET, BOMI, USGBC– oh my. Her interest and love of architecture and design has been fed by joining the SLOAN team. She loves to make “things happen” whether for the clients she works with or in her personal life.

Endless quest: Her next trip where she takes a cooking class. Italy, check, Oaxaca, check. Where next?

Not so hidden skill: Lynne spends most of her spare time on the water rowing with the Atlanta Rowing Club. Oh, and wearing goofy hats on Zoom calls.

Daniel Su

Design

Daniel is a Seattle-based art director and graphic designer with over 15 years of experience in digital and traditional media. He honed his design sensibilities through various industry experiences, including publishing, F&B, and of course, architecture. He has concentrated on every aspect of marketing, from invitations to online ad units, and from advertorials to brand identity pieces. Beyond his professional endeavors, he’s hiking PNW trails and discovering inspiration through museum visits.

AnnMarie Martin

Content

Know this name? It’s probably because you’ve been reading her articles for the past 19 years. AnnMarie tripped and fell down the design trade magazine rabbit hole and never found her way out.

But she’s more than just a writer. She’s a brand builder, helping titles give their readers a lot more than just some pretty pages to look at. Think programs that strengthen our community, spark discussion, and foster the next generation of design’s superstars. And now she’ll do the same for SLOAN clients.

Pet peeve: People who say they “don’t need” coffee in the morning.
Favorite ritual: Timing the seconds between her kids’ incessant snack requests. All-time record of 1.5 seconds. Endless quest: Writing the next great thriller novel.

Karen Mckinley

Branding

Karen is an advertising long-hauler and branding expert. She’s spent more than 30 years at different ad agencies around the country, working on just about every category you can imagine. At Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis, Karen was one of the first writers on the “Love. It’s what makes Subaru a Subaru” campaign. At Made Agency in Boulder, she led the creative for Church’s Chicken, TGI Fridays, Seventh Generation, and Clayton Homes. And at SLOAN she can be found digging into a brand’s DNA and helping focus their messaging.

Despite spending every moment of her life covered in dog hair, she enjoys a good sandwich, talking to strangers, and turning the thermostat down wherever she goes.

Steven Sloan

Media Relations and Content, Founder

The Sloan in SLOAN.

After a decade and a half immersed in the world of architecture and design, Steven Sloan knows every street corner, every nook and cranny—from media to events.

Lucky for you, he’s as passionate about helping businesses grow as he is about great design. Pet peeves: anything, anyone who stops at ‘good enough.’

Favorite ritual: Sunday paper and coffee. Endless quest: Discovering the world’s coolest hotel lobby.

Karrie Laughlin

Media Relations

With decades of working for and launching her own A/D focused media outlets, Karrie has learned a thing or two about how to make brands stand out in a competitive market…and she’s relentless about it! You want her in your corner.
